TV Licence
It pains me every time I pay those left wing cunts at the BBC.I have cancelled my standing order but am unsure if I should pay up as I don't want to get a fine.
Do they come after people or is it just and idle threat ?

Idle threats. Don't watch BBC so stopped paying years ago, they'll send you letters but they don't follow through.

Re: TV Licence
They may send a goon to your door who will read you your rights as if he's OB. Laugh in his face and slam the door.

I hope you do get fined though, just for being moronic enough to believe the BBC is left wing.

Thinking the BBC isn't left wing, that is truly fucking stupid.

Not being able to differentiate between leftism and liberalism = fucking retarded.

Had a few visits over the years, they get a 'Not today thank you' and the door slammed shut in their face

Re: TV Licence
Haven't bought one for about 10 years now. The letters you may receive are empty threats. Nothing has ever been done about it

Re: TV Licence
I’ll tell you what is fucking stupid. Not wanting to pay your license because of the perceived politics of the BBC, rather than just because it broadcasts a load of old shite that you never watch.

Only bought one in 30 years. Had a knock on the door once but just opened the window and told him to sod off.

I stopped watching the Conservative Broadcasting Corporation ages ago. Is Kuenssberg still delivering snippets from central office?

Re: TV Licence
Just go online and declare you don't watch live terrestrial TV.

Whether you do or not, they will never know. And if they do come round (they won't anyway if you declare online) politely tell them to fuck off.

Do some people still believe that the BBC isn’t left wing? You must have fucking shit for brains.

Bunch of fucking remoaners at the BBC

The mash report and mock the week might as well be called “ we hate the right “

Don’t pay your licence, it’s a very liberating experience.

Re: TV Licence
I pay my tv licence and willingly.

Mind you I do not pay for any other tv.

The problem that right whingers have is that the BBC is insufficiently right wing for them.

Re: TV Licence

Yes they do waste a lot of money on shite but the fact that some people think they are left wing and others think they are Tories means they must be doing something ok. They also do some brilliant programming, Natural History Unit is worth it alone.

If they were gone they'd be missed and that's a fact.

Some people may be happy giving a lot more to the likes of Sky just to have a fuck ton of channels that they probably never watch. That's their choice of course but not for me. I'd sooner spend the money on watching live sport in person.

And if you are that upset about 43p a day my first suggestion would always be that you need to up your game somewhat.

Mrs Cook from Stevenage writes:
What great value for money the BBC is. I would willing pay £400 a year for my license!

No fucker likes paying tax. Especially pikeys.

Re: TV Licence
What would be missed on the BBC would be taken on and made better by the likes of Netflix or Amazon, and the likes of Mrs Brown's Boys would simply die (hurray!).

Losing the BBC wouldn't be the end of the world. And we'd be £150 odd better off every year.

Re: TV Licence
The BBC will have to go subscription-only except for a general taxation funded news service. The existing licence format has had its day: within a generation so many people won't be paying a licence fee that enforcement will be impossible and it will have to find a different funding structure.
While its audience will be halved or worse, at least a volunteer audience will have a greater role in deciding what kind of programmes are aired. Provided the BBC and government don't leave the decision to change too late, there is enough goodwill and trust in the BBC that initial subscription take up will be high
especially by discerning people who value quality and intelligent production over mass entertainment.
